Everyone you work with — dancers, parents, and studios — saved here for quick reuse on future quotes.
The Base Costume price already covers premium dancewear fabric, professional construction, lining, elastic, closures, and basic straps. Everything you add from there — lace, appliqués, rhinestones, fringe, feathers, and more — is priced separately and stacks on top.
Most lyrical and ballet costumes lean on lace — motifs, overlays, trims, or purchased appliqués — as a core part of the design. Purchased Appliqués is priced accordingly, from a light accent to a heavily lace-covered bodice.
A light scatter is mostly aesthetic. Moderate coverage is the common competitive level. Heavy and Competition Level stoning involve significant stone cost and many hours of placement — the pricing reflects that jump, not just "more sparkle."
When the same design is produced for multiple dancers, shared pattern-making and production setup means the base costume costs less per unit. That savings applies to the Base Costume only — rhinestones, appliqué, feathers, and other features cost the same per costume no matter the group size.
Estimated Profit is what's left after materials. Effective Hourly Rate divides that by the time the design likely takes — so you can see, at a glance, whether a price is actually paying you fairly for your skill and time, not just covering your costs.
A tight deadline means rearranging your schedule and possibly turning away other work. The fee isn't a penalty to your client — it's the real cost of flexibility, and it lifts your Effective Hourly Rate accordingly.
Walk through the breakdown with them — most pushback softens once a client sees exactly what they're paying for, feature by feature.
